Twisty puzzles
For those unfamiliar with American or Internet colloquialisms and acronyms, I provide a list of terms for your reference. These are my definitions, so if you don't agree with them, GFY.

 AD
Anno Domini. This is Latin for "In the year of our Lord". This prefix appears before years to emphasize they are 'modern' -- that is, NOT before the year 1 in the Gregorian calendar. In other words, after the (likely inaccurate) year that Jesus Christ was born. You may have been taught it starts from the year Jesus was born, but NO. The genius who came up with the calendar (Dionysius Exiguus) declared Jesus was born December 25 in the year 1 BC and the following January was declared AD 1. So, not only are we missing zero, but Jesus was born Before Christ. Opposite of BC. Because non-Christians don't consider Jesus their lord, a new term was invented: CE.
 AKA
Also Known As
 AFAIK
As Far As I Know
 a.m. and A.M.
Anti-meridian. Opposite the sun. Starting at 12 a.m. (midnight) and ending at 11:59:59:59 a.m. (almost noon). Opposite of p.m.
or
Amplitude Modulation. A method of transmitting data (e.g., through radio waves). Using sound as an analogy, this would be like changing the volume. Compare with FM and PM and XM.
 BC
Before Christ. A suffix indicating a year prior to the year 1 in the Gregorian calendar. For example 200 BC would be 200 years before year 1. This is almost but not the same as -200. Why? There is no year 0 for either AD or BC. Opposite of AD
 BCE
Before Christian Era; I don't know why anyone would use this instead of simply BC. Opposite of CE
or
Before Current Era (for those afraid to reference Christ by name, but eager to adopt His calendar!)
 BS
Bachelor of Science
Bull Spit
 CE
Christian Era. A suffix(?) indicating that a year, in the Gregorian calendar, is after the birth of Jesus Christ. Opposite of BCE. Compare with AD.
or
Current Era (for those afraid to reference Christ by name, but eager to adopt His calendar!)
 CIA
Complex Interface Adapter (a microchip)
or
Central Intelligence Agency (a US-government organization)

And so on...
 fag
A tobacco cigarette
 fagette
A female cigarette
 FM
Frequency Modulation. A method of transmitting data (e.g., through radio waves). Using sound as an analogy, this would be like changing the pitch -- like playing different keys on a piano. Compare with AM and PM and XM.

 H2Obsession
H2O + Obsession. Water obsession. The new name for my site (because hydrophilic and hydradix were not available).
 Hydradix
HYDrogen RADIX. Base 1 numbering system; one because hydrogen is 'the first element'. As in one=1, two=11, three=111 ... six=111111, etc. If you know what Roman Numerals are, it should be obvious Base 1 is a very simplified version of them. That is, no V for five nor an X for ten, but only ones. In other words, I needed a name for my old site and the process took a while to find an available one.

Internet Explorer. Microsoft's internet browsing application.
 IMHO
In My Humble Opinion
 jiffy
A very short (for humans) unit of time equal to one sixtieth (1/60) of a second. Equivalently, one cycle at 60 Hz.
 LOL
Laugh Out Loud / Lots Of Laughs
or
Lots Of Love
 Moment of Time
Per modern terms, 1 meter second.  [See the definition of moment, and the unit of time (second)]
or
Per medieval terms, approximately 90 seconds
 OMG / OMFG
Oh My (Freaking) God! Feel free to substitute "God" with Alah, Buddah, Jehovah, Satan, Shiva (etc.) as your your religion may require.
 POS
Piece Of Scrap / Piece Of Silicon
 p.m. and P.M.
Post-meridian. On or after noon. Starting at 12 p.m. (noon) and ending at 11:59:59:59 p.m. (almost midnight). Opposite a.m.
or
Phase Modulation. A method of transmitting data (e.g., through radio waves). Using sound as an analogy, this would be like moving a speaker. You see, humans percieve phase as a relative amount between two sources -- their ears. So when a sound source moves (relative to a human) the phase arriving at the ears changes and the human percieves the change in phase (correctly) as a change in position (of the sound source). If you have a better analogy, let me know. Compare with AM and FM and XM.

 VIC
Video Interface Chip -- technically, it refers to the video-chip in the VIC-20 (the VIC-I), but (more?) often it refers to the video-chip in the C64 (VIC-II) or the C128 (VIC-IIe)
 XM
eXosphere Modulation. A method of transmitting data (through X-rays). Using sound as an analogy, this would be like a Lepricon chanting a demonic spell. Compare with AM and FM and PM.
